2019 Sustainability Update

This year has certainly had its challenges. From the devastating bushfires that continued to spread across several parts of Australia to the many impacts of COVID-19, 2020 has been extremely tough on many people in our region.

Kimberly-Clark ANZ is proud to have continued to serve our local communities throughout this time. In the first six months of 2020 we donated close to one million products to local charities, volunteered our time to those in need and donated AUD$200 000 to Lifeline to bring further attention to the mental health of Australians and New Zealanders.

Our 2019 Sustainability Update, outlines the other ways we have served our communities in recent times such as raising $120 000 for men’s health issues during Movember 2019, supporting the #axethetax campaign to remove GST from feminine care products in Australia and celebrating one million nappy donations to Plunket’s Nappy Bank in New Zealand.

This Sustainability Update also shares our journey to reducing our environmental footprint.  Among many achievements in 2019, we reduced our emissions by 62% (vs 2011 baseline), diverted nearly all of our manufacturing waste and at least 52 tonnes of plastic from landfill. Whilst we’re proud of how far we’ve come, there’s a lot more to be done. Global challenges like period poverty and stigma, plastic pollution and climate change are just some of the issues that we will continue to address. And we are committed to innovating, investing and partnering to scale our positive impact so that we continue to make real change.

Later this year we will launch our new ANZ 2030 Sustainability Strategy in line with Kimberly-Clark’s global 2030 ambitions in which the next 10 years are referred to as the “Decisive Decade” that will help shape the future of our business and the planet.
